(워싱턴 2017년 12월 22일 PRNewswire=연합뉴스) 미국임상연구피보험자보호인증협회[The Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs(AAHRPP)]는 미국, 캐나다, 한국과 타이완의 네 개 연구 기관을 인증했다고 오늘 발표했다.
이번에 새롭게 인증된 연구 기관은 다음과 같다.
- BC당뇨연구소, 캐나다, 브리티시컬럼비아, 밴쿠버
- 보스턴메디컬센터와 보스턴대학 의대, 매사추세츠주, 보스턴
- 창궁의료재단, 타이완, 타이베이
- 고려대학교 의료원, 한국, 서울
동 기관들은 올해 AAHRPP 인증을 획득한 18개 기관에 합류하여 2017년 모두 22개가 인증되었고 이로써 전체 인증 기관의 수는 251개가 되었다. 이들 중 49개는 미국 이외의 지역에 있다.
AAHRPP 회장 겸 CEO인 엘리제 I. 서머스는 "올해는 AAHRPP 인증과 참여 연구 기관에 좋은 한 해로서 AAHRPP의 높은 표준이 보호되었다"라고 말했다.

AAHRPP Accredits Four More Research Organizations

WASHINGTON, Dec. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs today announced that it has accredited four more research organizations―one each in the U.S., Canada, Korea, and Taiwan.
The newly accredited organizations are:
- BC Diabetes, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
- Boston Medical Center and Boston University Medical Campus, Boston, Massachusetts
- Chang Gung Medical Foundation, Taipei City, Taiwan
- Korea University Medical Center, Seoul, Korea
They join 18 other organizations in earning AAHRPP accreditation this year, bringing the total to 22 in 2017 and 251 accredited organizations overall. Of those, 49 are outside the U.S.
"This was a good year for AAHRPP accreditation and for the research participants that AAHRPP's high standards help protect," AAHRPP President and CEO Elyse I. Summers said.
"AAHRPP accreditation has long been recognized as the gold standard for research protections and as evidence of an organization's commitment to high-quality, ethical research," she added. To earn accreditation, organizations must show that they have built extensive safeguards into every level of their research operation and that they adhere to high standards for research.
AAHRPP has accredited organizations across the United States and in Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, India, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan and Thailand.
All major U.S. independent institutional review boards have earned AAHRPP accreditation. In addition, 70 percent of U.S. medical colleges and 84 percent of the top National Institute of Health-funded academic medical centers are either AAHRPP accredited or have begun the accreditation process. NIH, the world's largest public funder of research, has earned accreditation, as has Pfizer, Inc., the largest industry sponsor of clinical research.
